INTermediate is generally ages 8/9-12.  When numbers and skill warrant we do divide this group into skill level.  This program builds on the FUNdamentals program with the addition of front court skills (net shots and lifts) and back court skills (clear and drop), movement and agility.  Participants are also introduced to full court Singles.  Participants who continue with Intermediate will slowly be introduced to Doubles game play as well as the mid-court skills.  Participants in this group will be working on both Bronze1 and Bronze2 Certificate and some may be moving onto Silver Certificate.

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

This program varies in ages (can be as young as 10 and old as 20+).  For participants to be accepted into Squad they must be assessed by the head coach.  Squad is for athletes who are committed to physical, mental, technical and tactical skill development with drills that can be intense.  This program is from September – April.  Each practice is 1 1/2 – 2 hours in length on court at least twice a week but up to three.   This group will be divided into two groups if numbers and skill warrant it.  Participants in this program are working on both Silver and Gold Certificate which often take longer to achieve.

Athletes are provided a yearly training plan, nutritional information and a competition schedule that will include 3 out of town tournaments and local events.  Participants will either be focussing on qualifying or participating in BC Junior A or B Circuit Events, BC Winter Games, BC Junior A or B Provincials, Western Canadian Team Championships and/or Canadian Nationals. Fundraising is necessary and parents will be required to volunteer at some point during the season.
